Joke Owner/Company - District Manager FreshSlice Pizza Employee Review

Pros

Nothing. Took the job because I needed to work. Then hated getting up every day to go to work. Some of the franchisees are very nice but 99% of them are unhappy being part of this company.

Cons

Six days a week PLUS report filling every night so you're working about 70 hours a week. The owner is a joke and doesn't appreciate any good staff he has had. They are looking for slaves and really should be investigated by labour relations about the hours they make DM's work. Management curses and yells at you and there is virtually no training. No respect for employees. No training. Fear tactics that you can be fired at any time. Worse job ever! Don't be fooled by the salary. Your will actually earn about $10.00 an hour with all the hours you work.

Dear Former Employee, Regarding your comment about owner being a “joke owner”, I would like to educate you in case you missed it on Global TV where he appeared in a small documentary/interview about his life. After struggling in home country, he came to Canada with $8 in his pocket and founded this company from scratch. Since then has won multiple awards from reputable organizations including $80k Invention Award for inventing 20 new pieces of equipment as well as nominations for Entrepreneur of the Year Award & Consumer Choice Award. I personally have not met anyone with true business acumen, brilliance and good heart. He just launched the Freshslice Cares Foundation whose mission is to help kids lead a healthier life through sports. I am sad that you feel this way about Freshslice. Unfortunately, your statements are not fact based as I am and have been an employee, just like you were, with Freshslice for 5 years & all your statements are false. I am responding to your other comments below: Most of our colleagues work 40 hours including District Managers & depending on salary compensation package, some of us choose to work 6 days a week. Training is very thorough which lasts 8 weeks so I do not understand the comment about no training. I have not seen anyone treated with disrespect in my 5 years at Freshslice as our very 1st mission statement is to treat all our partners with respect, which is followed everyday. As mentioned, most of us work 40 hours & have been happily with Freshslice. Slave culture does not exist. As for your comment regarding expansion, we are already expanding & recently opened beautiful location in Kamloops with major success. With rapid expansion in Interior BC, we are set to venture into Alberta in the coming months.

Pros

- Complimentary tea and coffee - Occasional complimentary pizzas are provided. - Friendly and supportive coworkers - You get to learn a lot about all aspects of the business - Robust incentives and bonus structures in place.

Cons

- Standard working hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with an expectation of attendance from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. - Little to no breaks; participation in lunchtime meetings discussing business matters for 1 hour is “strongly encouraged”. Non-attendance may result in HR intervention. - Insufficient provision of training and developmental resources. - Utilization of group interviews for “efficiency”, despite their duration extending beyond 2 hours. - Inconsistent team priorities and unclear communication channels lead to role ambiguity. - Employees are incentivized to provide 5-star reviews and must provide evidence of submission to HR.
