Great Career Start, Not a Long Term Place - Sales Executive Frisco RoughRiders Employee Review

Pros

The pay is honestly very good for a minor league baseball team. The customers were a little weird sometimes and can drain your energy but the attendance is good so the sales are great. It’s a great place to jump start your sports career for a year or two, but besides Andy Milovich, the President and Scott Burchett, the management is POOR and would never last at a pro team. Andy realized that after losing more than 20 full time staff members in a year and finally started firing the duds of the company. Kudos to the executives.

Cons

The company culture is immature. That has a lot to do with working with people where this is probably their first work environment out of college. There were a lot of people that had “relations” in the office so there was gossip all the time and drama. No one takes anyone seriously there and that was the issue.

Pros

You get to work in sports There are good people that are fun to be around

Cons

The pay is beyond atrocious The hours are terrible, leaving little work life balance Upward mobility is a false promise. Outside of title, very little change in job function, pay, hours, responsibility And yet somehow the leadership is worst of all If you're looking to start a career in sports, you should keep looking
