Pros

- You will work with some wonderfully smart and talented people. - Remote environment has some really great aspects, *see cons for the not-so-great. - Compensation is average to below average.

Cons

All workplaces have their issues, but I will say my experience at Funday was interesting in that their values tended to be what led to the cons. The very things they seem to pride themselves in ended up feeling performative or at worst a kind of pre-emptive gaslighting. "We're Completely Remote": Unfortunately with a company spread across 24hrs worth of time zones, and little to no project management outside of slack conversations, this forces each team into precarious situations when it comes to delivery. It's hard to do anything in a synchronous manner, and a LOT gets lost in translation. Telling people what to do seems to be the norm rather than leaning on partnerships. "We Don't do Timesheets": All this means is that there is no, nor ever will be any trace of or respect for the overtime work you do (and there will be a lot). Recourse amounts to being told to take some time back where you can, which if done is viewed with contempt outside of extreme circumstances like travelling over weekends for shoots or missing stat holidays. This "value" is just another way of grinding people out of as many hours as possible and there's nothing new about it. "No A-holes": So this is where things really fall apart, and while the vast majority of people within the company are amazing people that you'll hope to work with again in your career, the exec leadership runs things like a fiefdom, and throughout my time there I experienced first hand the petty wrath of this as well as hearing coworkers belittled and called names again and again. It stems from people who believe they're smarter than everyone around them, and it's sad.

Pros

The team in Yerevan is really nice.

Cons

Pretty much everything else and working for some clients that actually are themselves. Expect unclear feedbacks and being lashed because you tried to do things the way you thought was right, or because you’re asking questions or asking for things to be more clear.
