- Boring projects.
- Artists are disrespected.
Performance reviews are supposed be every year with pay review, but in talking to other artists here, that apparently never happens which is very disrespectful. Artists shouldn't have to repeatedly ask to get their reviews and wait months for them to happen. They should be set up automatically and on time. At the very least happen quickly after being asked the first time.
Vancouver studio has lots of great talent but seem to be more like the studio for all the boring and tedious work the others (NY and LA) don't want to do and any work that Vancouver studio gets is often paint or repetitive/boring work. For Vancouver compers especially, they're not going to be adding much to their reel at this studio, so it's not going to further career prospects for most. After all, it's mostly grunt work for TV shows, not feature film. If you're looking to improve your reel, you'd be better off doing feature film bgprep at most other studios. And if you're a comper who can't do, or doesn't like paint work, it's not worth working at the Vancouver studio.
