Pros

Remote working, work life balance, a lot of time to learn new tech.

Cons

The company's leadership structure was built on a foundation of camaraderie rather than merit. The CEO, lacking prior experience in this role, assembled an excessively large “leadership” team composed mostly of former colleagues. From the outset, the focus skewed heavily towards values and DEI, with limited room for honest dialogue. It often felt like a cult, where leadership introduced questionable initiatives, and everyone nods their heads. Those who dared to challenge or question the direction were quietly dismissed. Within six months, we saw a significant departure of engineers, tech leads, product managers, and others—some were let go, while others left for better opportunities. Despite these losses, hiring continued at a frenzied pace. Hiring managers were assured of ample funds, and the CTO encouraged growth hiring without regard to actual business needs. As time passed, the lack of a clear vision and sound business strategy became apparent to the board, ultimately resulting in layoffs. Predictably, the more politically minded individuals remained, while many talented professionals lost their positions.

Pros

The software developers are a top quality group of people. Former CEO was amazing, passionate about product and people.

Cons

They are no longer a tech for good company, they care more about inflating the egos of upper management. They no longer care about their employees, cutting budgets for learning and making redundancies seemingly at random. No bonuses despite what contracts may say about bonus potential. There is no longer a vision for the company. It's all a bit sad really. There used to be a focus on innovation and learning across the company but now they just bow to whatever satisfies the sister company at the expense of the people and products
