Pros
Overall, G.W. Williams is a great company with great benefits. This company hires a lot of Bay Area natives who have a good understanding of the area. G.W. Williams has an established long-standing reputation with the community and throws a pretty solid Christmas party. They do their best to keep an old school family feel within the company.
Cons
Their discretion around hiring middle management is on the weak side. There is a history of hiring toxic middle managers, who are lazy, incompetent, late, and arrogant. The choices to hire from outside instead of promoting from within are bit questionable since so much of property management requires institutional knowledge and experience with a specific area. Do not expect to work your way up in this company. You were hired for a given position and will work it until you change jobs. The middle managers will work you to the bone unnecessarily driving workers to decision fatigue. it seems like middle managers will deliberately push employees to burn out while sitting back and waiting for someone else to replace them. Working at G.W. Williams has opened my eyes that cultural stereotypes exist for a reason and came from somewhere.
