Pros

Building relationships with the children and families

Cons

- Area managers lack knowledge, offer no support, and do not take responsibility for their actions. - People and culture prefer to push out employees if they receive complaints, instead of investigating correctly to get the truth. - Company constantly increases fees but never wages, resulting in high turnover of families. - with the highest fees in the industry, occupancy is low across all centres and blame is placed on managers for families leaving, even though they are leaving due to rising costs they can no longer afford. - if you question the ethics and values of the company, they will look and find a way to push you out

Pros

Variety of centres to work at

Cons

G8 expects a lot but not giving a lot. Pay is average at best. Too much focus on what we look like on the outside (documenting, writing daily reports, photos, observations too much time on an ipad) rather than actually giving us time to connect and engage with children. Older centres are falling apart but nothing gets fixed cause money is rather spent on new flashy centres that bring more money in. We've had roofs collapse, water pour through, floods etc they put a bandaid on so to speak but dont actually fix anything permanently. We get a thank u gift card here and there and a limited amount to spend on an afternoon tea for staff as 'appreciation'. Meanwhile we have to use our own time to catch up on any development courses because during work hours we're notoriously understaffed and overworked.
