Pros

- Good pay - 4 days off (If you don't get screwed over and forced to work on your 4 days off because "rules") - Worked with great and very skilled mechanics at the plant

Cons

Where do I start?! - Maintenance department is a joke. The shop has little to no specialty machinery or tools. Need a angle grinder? You'll spend 2 hours just trying a find a non compliant one. Great mechanics..... just lead by some horrible supervisors and managers - Provide your own tools (Multi-billion dollar company... still requires you to bring your own tools. They say they will replace your self supplied tools that are damaged.... right..... The plant deserves the cheapest of the cheap tools due to this issue.) - Maintenance supervisors/managers are clueless (Half of them can't even stay their full 9 hour shift yet you get yelled at for not doing your job. How does that work???) - Forced over time (Union/company rules). Lets be honest here, people have lives.... don't force overtime when its admitted by management that it is NOT NEEDED. - Want to go up in rank from a mechanic 3 to a 1? Yea, good luck..... oh don't worry, as a mechanic 3 you will be given tasks meant for higher mechanics. Expect a very LONG E-training that your manager(s) don't want you doing on your shift because its not work related. - The posted schedule is the "final say". If you aren't working that day or they failed to update the schedule on time, DONT WORRY they will find a way to let you know you work these days even if its under 48 hours. - Need to communicate with your supervisor during nights? Forget about it.... your better off calling McDonalds for answers or advice. - On nightshift? Congrats, your forced to come in on your off shift to work dayshift on "down days". - Ask for replacement power tools for the shop that have gone missing? Or do you need your required cold weather gear that was supposed to be supplied to you on day 1? Don't worry, you will get a useless cabinet to put brooms and dust pans in instead. - Managers need something from you and you are on night shift? Don't worry the request/question is written on a white board for you to answer. It's like email is non existent there! - Health and safety is taken very "seriously" there. But they fail to execute providing the required PPE. Waited 2 months to get my PAPR, which by the way, was used by some other person that no longer works there. - Need forklift training? You won't get your training. - Expect to do some production tasks as some of the production employees are lazy or not trained properly. (This plant has a very high turnover rate and production training is horrible) My list can go on and on. These are what I have experienced in the 9 months I worked there. Toxic environment, VERY VERY VERY unorganized.

Pros

Great company with supportive and talented people, an excellent work/life balance, and a positive culture. I truly enjoyed my time there and will miss it, I really loved working at this company.

Cons

Some processes and team structures could benefit from further modernization, particularly in expanding Agile adoption compared to leading IT organizations.
