Used to be paradise, now it's chaos - Performance Director GAIN Employee Review

Pros

Some of the long-tenured employees are genuinely talented and a pleasure to work with. They're the only reason morale hasn't completely collapsed. Hard to overstate how much knowledge and skill they carry.

Cons

Management has lost the plot. There's no clear vision for where this company is going anymore, just reactive decisions made on the fly. People who built this place from the ground up (back when it was TRGT, and it really was a great place to work then) are now sidelined and not trusted, despite years of loyalty and results. Micromanagement has crept in hard. Things that were never tracked or questioned before are now scrutinized constantly, which kills autonomy and trust. Workloads are unsustainable. Way too many accounts dumped on individual people with no regard for capacity. Team structures get reshuffled so often it's hard to keep up, and the constant churn makes it impossible to build any continuity. Watching colleagues you respected slowly turn into corporate yes-men to survive here is genuinely sad. Perks are handled unfairly across regions. Unlimited PTO got quietly cut for some while leadership still markets the benefits package as generous. Doesn't sit right. Also heard from people working as contractors that they're treated poorly, like an afterthought rather than part of the team. Whole place feels like it's at a boiling point. People are exhausted and burnt out, and it shows.

Pros

Working with cool brands, if you get lucky to be put on that team, some of the performance directors/line managers and work mates are great to work with.

Cons

System that is crated for people on the top to get the big buck, while the rest need to scramble for the remains, no progression plans, low number of PTO days, generally company that only cared for profit and taking not considering a way to give back to people. No clear procedures on any procedure, always promising to fix it but never did

Thank you for sharing this, we can hear the frustration, and we take it seriously. We also really appreciate that you acknowledged some of the positives, the incredible brands we work with, and the talented performance directors, line managers and teammates across the business. That means a lot, and reflects the quality of people and work we're proud of here. We won't pretend the past year has been easy. Bringing multiple agencies together has created inconsistencies, and we know that for some, promises haven't always translated into visible change quickly enough. That's something we've been working hard to put right. We do want to address a couple of points directly. On processes, significant improvements have been made over the past 6 to 12 months, and while we know there's always more to do, the progress is real and continuing. On PTO, we believe our current offering is genuinely generous, and we'd encourage anyone who feels unclear on their entitlements to speak with their HRBP. We're also proud to offer real flexibility through our hybrid and remote working model, something we know matters enormously to our teams in Spain and across the business.

Pros

There are still people in this company who are worth working and commiserating with. But not for long.

Cons

- Hard work does not get recognised in any way, salary 'adjustments' are few and years between - For a global company, there is little acknowledgement of the needs of those outside of uk/spain/india/philippines - Management is on a completely different planet, touting their own horn in every all-hands while totally ignoring the clearly unhappy employees - Pay levels are unfair and clearly favor some teams or business units based on what the business values - Lots of Heads of, Directors, Leads getting hired/promoted, while the backbone of the workforce is getting shortchanged. Seems there is a new role made up every 2 weeks so someone can get paid more for doing jack all - Money being spent on luxury flights and hotels for management, while the mere employee is told they can't have a raise after 2 years of working their behind off to bring the company revenue
