Pros

Friendly staff. Good starting salary. Professional environment.

Cons

Work/life balance. It's a start up company so it is expected every now and then to do some additional tasks unrelated to the job itself.

Pros

- Fast paced and exciting work environment! You will see lots of really cool projects go from concept to design, construction, and testing in only a few months and it’s amazing to see the effort and teamwork come together. They just moved to a new office with way more space and facilities to accommodate new projects and employees. - Trustworthy co-workers. Everyone at GITAI is hardworking, helpful, knowledgeable, and adaptable. This includes everyone from upper management, to the engineers, business team, and technicians. Everyone is always trying their hardest for the good of the project or mission, and you can trust that your co-workers are not slacking. If you are a hard worker looking to work with other hard workers, this is the place for you! - Flexibility with your work schedule. You’ll have a good amount of flexibility with your work hours, as long as you get all of your tasks done on time. - Friendly and open office environment. Everyone, including the upper management, engineers, HR, and CEO, sit and work in the same room and this makes communication way easier. Management will roll a TV out so we can all watch cool space launches together, and everyone gathers to celebrate birthdays. GITAI does not feel very clique-y, and I don’t sense any office drama/politics. The employees are united by their love of space missions and their hardworking teammates. - Care for workers welfare. The leadership at GITAI understands that if they want to retain good workers, they need happy workers. Management won’t pressure you to stay late as long as you’re getting your work done. HR will check in with you regularly to make sure everything is okay, and are working hard to improve everyone’s welfare. Leadership will shield you from management minutia so you can focus on your tasks and do what you’re best at. There are quarterly recap meetings of the company’s achievements that recognize workers' efforts so the team can appreciate the impact of their work. Worker benefits are good, and free snacks help morale.

Cons

Not exactly cons, but you should be aware of these things when deciding if GITAI is right for you: - You have to be fairly comfortable being independent with your work. Knowing your fundamentals is very important. Your supervisor will not hand-hold you through all the steps for your tasks. The other engineers/technicians/managers are very busy and as a new hire, they may not have time to teach you in-depth (although they definitely do their best). Don’t be afraid to ask questions though, since everyone is pretty friendly and will do their best to make time to lend knowledge to help you with your task. - You have to be proactive with communication/coordination. Some of your teammates might be quiet (English is a second language for many of them), so you’ll fare well if you are direct and proactive (but patient), and not passive. - This is a startup and the team moves fast. When deadlines are approaching, be prepared to occasionally work longer hours with everyone. Time management will be important, since your items need to be ready when the team needs them. - Since GITAI does lots of rapid development on physical hardware, you’ll be expected to work on-site in-person every day. They do allow for some work from home with approval from your supervisor.

Pros

The people here are great—most are really friendly and pleasant to talk to, even if they seem a bit shy at first. The work environment is super relaxed, with flexibility on what to wear and when to come in. I also love that I get to push myself and grow in ways I hadn’t expected, which is challenging but rewarding. Plus, the company’s mission is exciting! We're aiming to send robotic entities into space to support human space projects autonomously. And, the pay is solid, which is always a plus. Performance reviews are every 6 months instead of the usual yearly review, so you feel recognized and rewarded for your hard work much sooner which is so much better than "typical" companies.

Cons

The benefits could be stronger. Right now, we have a 401k match, a little too few vacation days, and holidays, but there aren’t any floating holidays or more flexible options. Also, things can feel a bit hectic, and you end up wearing a lot of hats, which is pretty standard for a startup, though it can get a bit overwhelming at times. Many people here grind hard and work very late—sometimes even until midnight—so if you’re not comfortable with that kind of environment, it might not be the best fit.
