the money is "better" than the other competitors such as Nuffield etc

Very bad management in this company, it's so bad it almost feels like it is ingrained in managers to be bad at what they do. This is the number 1 reason that anyone who has been working in GLL for over a few years will tell. I myself have been with the company for close to 10 years and seen a lot during that time. This company is going down the drain as it's fundamental principles in how it treats it's staff are appalling. Get out if you can!
