Pros
Pros...a paycheck for which I can pay my bills.
Cons
This company expected you to work "overtime" meaning "all-the-time" including overnight and days off without compensation. Working 16hrs/day meant that whatever my hourly rate was, in reality, was 1/2 of that, so in essence I was making half of what I usually earn.
There was no project planning; no pacing with the client who also had a "slave" and "dog-eat-dog" mentality. While the Americanized foreigners were even more "American" in their disdain for the company's attitude, everyone know that the project being worked on wasn't going to satisfy the MAS requirements (the financial requirements similar to SOX and BASEL II). Anyone who tried to communicate the shortfalls of the project and it's collision course, fell into disrepute in the company and eventually was let go. The consulting firm was making oodles of money off of the project and the client, who somewhere possibly knew the futility of this project (I hope), had an "Emperor's New Clothes" mentality about the project.
