Pros

- Lots of enthusiastic and talented people to collaborate with - Hybrid working - Free Drinks, Fruit and other snacks in the office - Plenty of social events

Cons

On paper GWI seems like a great place to work, and unfortunately I was suckered into this train of thought. The worst part of the company is the incompetence of the senior leadership team and the CEO. The company has been through several rounds of redundancies and they keep eliminating positions which cause massive brain drain. There is nobody to fulfil the duties of some quite specialist roles. They are hiring people in one round of recruitment and making those same people redundant 6 months later just before they pass probation. They get the work they need out of you then let you go to fulfil a financial quota. The CEO has gone on record stating that he didn't believe AI is a valid reason for people to lose jobs, then in a two faced fashion makes people redundant claiming the business rationale is freeing up funds for AI development. Leadership makes grand promises but never commits, and the regular workers pay the price for incompetency, while they survive with their golden parachutes. GWI could be a great place to work, but they don't have the spine to live up to the lofty ideals they spout.

Pros

Great place to gain valuable professional experience, work with well-known brands, and develop skills that are highly transferable to future roles.

Cons

The GWI I joined and the GWI I left felt like two very different companies. Over the years, the culture declined significantly, and many teams became increasingly disconnected. Collaboration was often difficult, and some colleagues displayed entitled and unprofessional behavior that made the work environment challenging. Career growth opportunities were limited, and compensation did not always reflect the responsibilities and expectations placed on employees. In recent years, leadership appeared heavily focused on AI initiatives and cost-cutting measures, which created uncertainty and negatively impacted morale. Frequent layoffs and restructures made many employees feel undervalued and replaceable. While I gained valuable experience and worked with some talented individuals, I would encourage leadership to invest more in employee development, culture, and transparency.
