Pros
Gables recently increased the housing discount to 40% for on site employees (you will be taxed on it). There are an average amount of vacation and sick days and benefits are pretty standard. You can redeem points through an employee recognition system for extra vacation days or for gift cards. Gables introduced a DEI program that you can be involved in and there are other opportunities to become involved in initiatives that the company offers. Bonuses are typically good if you achieve the requirements. I lost several thousand last year on my bonus because they projected rental rates to be too high and not enough people left us 5 star reviews on Google. There is a small company feeling where you can get to know many other people within the organization and there is a mentorship program. There is a sabbatical program where you get extra paid time off after you work for 10 years.
Cons
Once you reach a General Manager level, it's nearly impossible to receive a promotion. I have asked several times to take on additional properties and I have been told it's not in the staffing plan of those properties. In order to get a regional role which are far and few between, you need to be with the company for 10+ years. Once you are a regional, VP positions are never available either which is why we lost many regional managers in 2023.
