Pros

-Excellent staff who are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and experienced, many of whom have been with the company since its inception, or early stages. -Great location and an energetic workplace with flexible working options. -Fantastic company social events. -Great belief in and support for Corporate Social Responsibility

Cons

-Personal development is encouraged at surface level, but poorly supported with "discovery learning" being promoted, as opposed to available instructor led courses, or internal peer to peer coaching, meaning no accreditation or certification. -Relatively few promotional/advancement opportunities due to size of the organisation. -A noticeable amount of new hires and management staff have pre-existing and ongoing personal relationships outside of the wider organisation, being involved in or having influence on the hiring and selection process. -A "feast or famine" approach to personal and professional development, where particular employees will be singled out for exclusive access to development and networking opportunities with internal and external organisations. - A lot of "knowledge silos" with singular subject matter experts for different areas. -Opportunities to expand your given role will be provided without open knowledge or discourse, resulting in ambiguity between working groups, and members becoming de facto line managers without defined roles and responsibilities, which can cause disharmony. -Staff and physical resources are shared with a sister company within the location, with poor business practices to manage demands, resulting in difficult working conditions when customer requirements are not met, as well as interpersonal tension, creating high stress environments. -Relatively high staff turnover within the wider organisation (shared resources), particularly with more recent joiners. -There is a palatable sense that one has to fit a mould, or present themselves in a certain way in order to have a "face that fits" within the organisation, with annual appraisal scores being negatively affected if a members personality does not meet a defined criteria, regardless of the quality of their work. -There is a significant problem with damp and mold in the office, and other parts of the building, with one external facing and adjoining wall being particularly damaged, which had been highlighted, documented and continued to worsen for over a year with seemingly no action taken to rectify or repair.
