Pros

Co-workers were nice, being surrounded by pop culture and gaming was fun

Cons

The reviews here are true, although it may seem like a perfect job for someone who is into pop culture and the comic con world the management is terrible, abusive and disorganized. There is no HR so they do what ever they want, there is no limits. Mike, the CEO and his wife Sandy, are extremely abusive and yell and curse at their employees. They bring their marital fights to work and take it out on the employees. Both of them own the company and they threaten and belittle everyone around them when they are in a bad mood, and they are 90% usually in a bad mood. I lost count on how many people were fired in a short amount of time because of their short temper. There is no work and life balance. I've seen employees crying and breaking down around the office. When confronted they make the excuse that it's "because they are from NY" but that is NOT and excuse to have their employees mental health to be at risk because of their negligence to be good people. I have gotten emails at midnight to make a task happen or will be written off as incompetent. During team meetings the leadership trash talk the talent and the employees and spread rumors creating a tense work environment. It sucks that this company is being lead by such horrible people because other than that it would be a fun job to have. They deserve to be exposed with how terribly they operate.

Thank you for your feedback. In regards to your comment about HR, we now have multiple new hires to oversee the HR functions to make sure that everyone feels included and welcomed. There have also been shifts in senior management and I can assure you there will be no more fighting! GalaxyCon does not expect employees to work around the clock (sometimes urgent matters during live show weekends on-site are an exception). With a true HR presence now in the office, we are already starting to see positive changes. Thank you for your feedback.

Games, full kitchen, posters, autographs, comics, Funkos and figurines everywhere - Pet friendly environment

Cons

- Pay isn’t competitive but it’s one of those careers that your excited to work for so that helps - Long hours at events. If you aren’t able to work past 12 hours for 4-5 days straight, this isn’t the place for you

Pros

Comicon style events you get to attend and be a part of and meet amazing people and celebrities.

Cons

Leadership is horrible. They will work you to the bone and then yell at you for things that are out of your control. Leadership has anger management issues and expect you to do the work of multiple people which not offing support. You have no autonomy and the work hours while onsite at the cons are horrible but they don't care. They are adding so many new cons but not increasing the team to help with the additional workload.
