Pros
-Flexible and results-oriented working environment -Good individual leadership within most departments -Many experienced employees with an extensive work history in the private security/defense field
Cons
-Minimal training and guidance provided, you'll really need to seek these out yourself -Over-reliance on informal metrics for assessing progress, this is often used as a crutch in place of a formal employee review process -Inconsistent compensation for employees in the same position -Sporadic career advancement for loyal employees; unless you know someone you'll only get the scraps left after senior management has given out the juicy positions and salaries to their friends -Cronyism/nepotism is a serious problem, senior management has trust issues with long-term employees and prefers using consultants and external hires from their previous positions
