Good Firm and Great Team - Manager Gen II Fund Services Employee Review

Pros

Gen II is a forward-looking firm that generally gets many things right, including growth and employee treatment. There are good opportunities to grow and take on responsibility. The work is generally independent, but there is still a fair bit of collaboration. The work-life balance feels great to me compared to my prior accounting roles, but I would expect at least some overtime during certain times of the quarter.

Cons

The office culture is on the poorer side of what I've experienced. Seating assignments don't usually make sense—teams are often spread apart and you have to go out of your way to try to make opportunities to connect with your team.

Our people are empowered to plan different activities through our office clubs. You are welcome to share suggestions with your Office Manager and our Head of Culture & Engagement. Our Denver office colleagues regularly plan in-office gatherings, as well as different out of office outings.

Pros

You’re able to work with nice people

Cons

This company is ridiculous. They mandated three days in office. Yet? Nobody shows up still but then if you have a dentists appointment you have to let your superior know two weeks in advance. The computers are still absolute dog water. They had a town hall specifying that they’re above 1.35 AUM but yet employees and directors and principals have to continue using laptops from 2007? Make it make sense. The actual software that the company uses is also just terrible and lags for an hour or two at least twice a day. But if you bring it up they’ll just ignore you and then get upset why it takes so long for xyz file to be downloaded. Do better
