Pros

- Decent benefits - The product is high quality and helps people

Cons

- Management changes their minds erratically, at times on a whim or for superficial reasons. Every new direction is an emergency. New products/releases are chronically delayed. - Full of people fighting over power. Every would-be collaboration turns into a power struggle between competing managers or competing departments. - Really bad people that poison the well stay for a long time, even while the company watches good talent leave. Some managers have turned their departments into revolving doors, yet it never catches up with them. - Poor communication. You find everything out through the grapevine because no one tells employees anything. COVID: The company was not fast to respond. The company is considered essential, so never needed to shut down, though even essential employers were supposed to practice social distancing to the greatest extent possible, which Generac did not do. Most corporate employees already had a laptop with a VPN, but were NOT allowed to work from home full time. The stance was always that we need to rotate, even though more of us could be working from home. Those who worked from home often faced increased micromanagement. Meanwhile, masks are voluntary in the office, and no one is wearing them.

Pros

No background checks. Good for people needing a job quickly.

Cons

Where to start? Poor leadership on all levels. A bunch of talk about quality and the customer but are happy pushing out inferior product and dealing with it later, but then blame all the workers (via no quarterly bonus due to impossible metrics they have little/ no control over) instead of correcting the workers responsible. They are SO CHEAP. Cheap in pay, cheap in providing what employees need in a timely manner or if ever, cheap in benefits, cheap all the way around. They want drones, not humans. Very high turnover rate. A lot of promises and little follow up. If you sign up for the annual company picnic and cant make it, they take money directly out of your check for each person signed up to go. Poor training. Reactive, not proactive.
