Pros

I am working in an R & D role and making the decision to join Generac is one of the best career decisions I have ever made. There are some great technical challenges for those willing to learn and I have become a team leader within my department. Recently due to growth a new director was hired in my department, and we have built a great working relationship. The new hire training is adequate, and my teammates have been very helpful with the onboarding process. The pay is fair, and benefits are adequate as well. Overall, if you willing to learn and work in a team environment, this is a great place to work.

Cons

Initially, I was reluctant to make a job change since my previous role was also a great place to work. The reason was I read some of the negative reviews online about Generac and I almost passed on the opportunity. I decided to conduct the interview and noted the hiring manager was very direct and easy to talk to. So far, the only con is the online reputation from some posters does not match with quality work experience I am currently enjoying.

Pros

No background checks. Good for people needing a job quickly.

Cons

Where to start? Poor leadership on all levels. A bunch of talk about quality and the customer but are happy pushing out inferior product and dealing with it later, but then blame all the workers (via no quarterly bonus due to impossible metrics they have little/ no control over) instead of correcting the workers responsible. They are SO CHEAP. Cheap in pay, cheap in providing what employees need in a timely manner or if ever, cheap in benefits, cheap all the way around. They want drones, not humans. Very high turnover rate. A lot of promises and little follow up. If you sign up for the annual company picnic and cant make it, they take money directly out of your check for each person signed up to go. Poor training. Reactive, not proactive.
