Pros
Great work/life balance. GDIT expects a lot from their employees, but they won't demand crazy long hours like other IT companies I've worked for. Good management. Good compensation and benefits.
Cons
The main drawback to working for a federal contractor like GDIT is that the government can decide to NOT renew your contract at the end of the term. You can find yourself with 90 days or less to find a new position in the company or else. I've worked on three contracts at GDIT and one of them was not renewed after we had it for 15 years. I was essentially terminated with 90 days notice - in my FINAL WEEK I was able to find a new contract. I've been on that contract now for 5 years.
