Pros
The merger between AIS and C4S has put forward a great executive leadership team that is working to find the best of both organizations and move forward with that. They have performed surveys and focus groups in order to bring employees together and find out what employees need the most. I have had the pleasure of working with the executive leadership and heard how passionate they are about regaining the trust of the employees, investing in them, and making GD MS a better place to work as well as a more profitable company. If you are willing to work hard and take control of projects, it is noticed. Management has gone out of their way to increase recognition for going above and beyond. Lastly, if you have an issue, they are willing to work with you to solve the problem and if you are a hard worker they will do what they need to to keep you happy.
Cons
Obviously with some 13,000 people it is easy to feel lost in the organization. The on-boarding process needs some work but there are already teams assigned to improving that and developing a mentoring program. There are tons of employee resources available, almost too many to sort through. From education assistance to classes and certifications. Sorting your way through all of that can be difficult. Doing the basics of your role will not get you promoted. Do I see this as a con? No. Go above and beyond if you want to move up.
