Working alongside such talented individuals has been inspiring and has created a positive and inclusive work culture. The CEO of Generation Citizen is an inspiring leader that has ambitious goals for the future of the organization. She fosters a trust-based culture, placing a high level of trust in hear leadership team and employees across the organization, empowering them to take ownership of their work and make meaningful contributions. One of the standout pros of working at Generation Citizen is the flexible work schedule including unlimited PTO and remote/hybrid work setups. The organization understands the importance of work-life balance and provides employees with the flexibility to manage their time effectively. This flexibility allows for a better integration of personal and professional commitments, promoting overall well-being. Generation Citizen is still in the process of building and refining some of its internal systems. This means that there may be instances where certain processes or structures are lacking or not fully developed. Working at Generation Citizen requires individuals who are comfortable with ambiguity and are up for the challenge of co-creating a new system or building a new approach, when needed.

GC has a great mission and some great people with strong talents.

Until there are some major changes at the top, nothing will improve. I know at least 3 colleagues (in addition to myself) who are actively looking for other jobs, and turnover has been horrendous over the last 6—12 months. 2-3 people control everything and there is a lack of trust for those individuals. People have tried to improve organizational effectiveness over the years but they have left. This is a culture where we pretend everything is wonderful due to a mission we all believe in but you don’t have to dig deep to uncover the dysfunction and incompetence.
