Pros
Learned how to lead a community based project and get a chance to work with kids and some incredible teachers who have passion about civic engagement. The experience sharpen your communication skills, research abilities, public speech skills, and the ability to solve the problem on spot (there will always be some moments when you try to follow the curriculum but the class reaction didn't turn out what you expected) I were fascinated by how smart and claver the kids were. Our class project won the first prize last year, and it was the most reward thing ever!
Cons
It is not easy to fully understand the curriculum, which takes at least 2 hours per week to work with your partner and come up with the class agenda. Also, you will be working with multiple teams weekly (the teacher, chapter, and the coordinator), which require good patient and excellent communication skills in order to be on the same page.
