Pros

An ability to progress your career to a certain point if you put the work in. Some good people, good holiday allowance and nice company cars.

Cons

Too many middle managers, no clear direct report. Daily/weekly/monthly reporting that is a bit over the top. Yearly salary reviews were disappointing.

Pros

Reasonable working hours, 6am to 3.30pm (overtime inevitable due to being on the road) mon to fri, no weekend work unless asked in advance. Very rare to be asked. No more than 2 to 4 jobs/drops a day, mainly working on construction sites. Allmi accreditation Hiab course paid for in full, slinger course included. Full uniform given, spares as and when needed. Great team of people to work with, feels more like a group of friends, can be very open with management and they you can highlight any problems or issues you have.

Cons

Salary could be improved, below the average for similar work in the area. Especially london work. Overtime is also paid at standard rate. Can be in London and the city quite a lot, compared to Kent and surrounding areas. Need to be outspoken in certain situations, if you're to laid back and dont want to do anything for yourself you can find yourself working longer hours due to not being loaded and unloaded. Some deliveries can be a nightmare to find, also some long waiting times on very busy sites. Again adding to some unplanned overtime. You have to work 2 Saturdays a year helping with stock take in the yard, this is part of your contract and no overtime is applied.
