Pros
I was hired to participate in Generator Media & Analytics' three-month summer internship program in June 2016. Although I left the company to pursue an external full-time offer at the end of the program, my overall experience with Generator was excellent. The company offered interns a comprehensive overview of the media industry with 101 classes in media planning, television buying, search-engine optimization and more. As a media planning intern I was trusted with real responsibilities like creating weekly plan reports for clients, meeting sales reps and evaluating them as prospective digital partners, and trafficking live campaigns. I was sad to leave the positive team environment, community perks (free snacks, company celebrations, and in-office massages) and close-knit staff . The management was communicative, accessible, and open and the company offered good prospects for internal movement and promotion.
Cons
The smaller size may be a con if you prefer a larger company, but Generator's size allows it to easily adjust to rapid media changes and fosters liberal cross-communication between teams.
