Pros
Salary was fair-to-good, especially for the market. Plenty of opportunities to learn and grow under helpful (IT) management. Great benefits package. Since they host almost the entirety of their IT infrastructure, there is a lot to know and do; Exchange, routing, server hardware and OS, VoIP, WAN, VMWare, SQL, SAN... The list goes on.
Cons
As is typical when you work in a field none of the other departments understand, there was a lot of misplaced blame and unnecessary finger-pointing going on towards the IT dept. Pressure was almost always high while the overall appreciation was often low, but this is to be expected in a non-tech company. Also huge pressure to "justify your existence" from shareholders (who are also some of your users) and upper management.
