Pros

Employee-owned, but please see "Cons" to get the full story. Worked with some great folks and the vast majority of the customer base are top tier. I'll miss my connections with them.

Cons

Long hours, poor pay, zero support from management. Ownership is toxic and dysfunctional. Turnover is extremely high. The company changed the commission structure for the technical side (Bench and Field) and caused an exodus of experienced technicians to leave. Though employee-owned, none of the actual employees gets a vote or say in any company decisions. Stores are kept bare-boned regarding stock, supplies, and equipment. Nearly all stores are in very low-rent, unsafe areas. The biggest three stores (Fort Worth, Dallas, and Richardson) are forced to pool their Counter Sales commission and split them evenly. Completely unfair to any store that may be having a great inside sales month. Training is virtually non-existent.

We have noted your review. The fact that you were unable to fulfill your obligations as a inside sales representative, in both the expected hours of the position of which you accepted when you accepted the position with the company, and unacceptable low sales performance does not change the fact that we are an employee owned company. To subjectively state we have high turn-over is patently untrue. It sounds like you may have some hurt feelings because you were not able to make it here. What is does say is that this position wasn't a good fit for you and we are sorry you feel the way do. Your advice means nothing to us, since you choose to cowardly hide behind an anonymous post on Glass Door rather than having brought these forward in a constructive way when you were employed here. While striving to improve our market share, as a 100% Employee Owned Company, creating a positive company culture is also our goal. We are a "hard working" company that rewards our employee owners!

Pros

I worked here from Oct 2023 to March 2025 in Denver. I loved it here and only left due to me moving and when moving they even offered some hybrid positions within the company which I appreciated. The people you work with are great and same with the customers. The day to day is not to hectic but you still stay busy throughout the day which is nice. You manage most of the store operations and have a hand in practically in every part of the office. The job teaches you about not just sales but operations, invoicing, inventory, and ordering. So it’s a pretty diverse position. You get what you give because the commission is pretty aggressive for the industry which is nice and still having a base salary is nice too. They are understanding with the area if we had a snow storm they would always either close the shop or have a delay open which was nice. At no point did I feel my job was at jeopardy nor did I feel I was underpaid and all my experiences with upper management went well.

Cons

I will say that the review below this is not me. Its ridiculous that someone feels the need to pretend to be me and write a false review because they feel some type of way towards Geoshack. My cons are not towards Geoshack leadership or The company but the person who is pretending to be me is putting my relationships at risk for no reason. Thankfully I still stay in conatct with the team at GeoShack and was able to let them know that that review was not mine.
