Pros

Staff members are all nice.

Cons

Underpaid, overworked. General state of chaos and disorganization despite them stating they're trying their best. Slow to prioritize resolutions to problems by getting a plan in action and executing it to make changes for growth. The director is out of touch with current issues and has made politically incorrect statements, some racist sounding, intentional or not, during professional speeches.

Pros

Colleagues at the mid level are great, and some colleagues are really passionate about the work they do here. You don't go work in a museum if you don't love it.

Cons

Everything? Compensation is so low it doesn't make it worth coming to work each day. We finally got our first increases this year for the first time in forever. The leadership team is ineffectual, uninterested in the work, and in parts discriminatory. Your job description that you are hired under is not at all what you will be doing. Be ready to have all your work micromanaged by leaders who don't know what they are doing, but also don't want to listen to your ideas or improvements. Obviously the status quo is not working and not bringing in a new guest clientele. I have sat in so many meetings where no one is listened to with great ideas. Not just dismissed for monetary limitations, but dismissed out of hand because "that isn't how things are done here".
