Pros

Pros. In most people's opionion GSP is higher trained and better officers. They typically are better trained on basic vehicle law enforcment. Flexible schedule. 15 days vacation.

Cons

It's mostly quota driven. Supervisors don't seam to focus on quality of enforcment, decreasing crashes, or improving safety. They seam to only want decent numbers on the monthly reports. Zero overtime. Only comp time after you work 160hrs in 4 weeks. So you could work a blizzard snow storm and rack up a lot of hours. But if you take 2 sick days in the pay period you will loose the chance to keep the comp time. Flexible schedule can be a midnight shift followed by a early AM shift. Holiday weekends require 75% coverage and normal days require 50% coverage. So your limited on when you can take a day off work. Troopers are quitting at an alarming rate. Your short staffed and will be expected to work harder to make up for the lack of help.
