Pros

-100% Employee Owned (Gibson Employee Stock Ownership Program or "GESOP") -2013 Best Places to Work -Best Practices Agency every year since 1994 -Executive leadership comitted to long-term excellence and sustainable growth -Employment Engagement at all time highs (sustainability strategies in place) -A company that values innovation and customized client solutions -Strong professional/family oriented culture -Great pay and benefits package -Extremely strong perpetuation plan for senior producers/principals, allowing the organization to focus on long-term independence and innovative strategies

Cons

-Like any elite/growing organization, high expectations are set for employees and accountability measures are utilized. This can be perceived as a "con" by some -Some growth pains experienced like any other mid-sized organization (but senior mgmt recognizes this and continues to reinvest in new people and new technology)

Pros

Gibson Insurance is employee owned. That matters in practice, not just in language. Decisions are made by people who carry real equity, real accountability, and a long-term view of the business. The culture attracts motivated adults. People are trusted to think, build, and execute without layers of unnecessary oversight. Performance is valued over politics. Output matters more than optics. There is freedom to build. New ideas are encouraged, niches are supported, and initiative is rewarded instead of managed away. If you want to develop expertise, relationships, or a differentiated approach, the firm makes room for it. Compensation aligns with contribution. Growth benefits the people creating it, not a distant ownership group. Wins are shared. So is responsibility. The environment is demanding but fair. High standards exist because the work matters and because the people here take ownership seriously. That combination creates momentum, stability, and real professional upside

Pros

- Great culture and fun workplace - Nice office space - Great opportunities in terms of pay and benefits

Cons

- Didn't get to be involved as much since we had no license as interns - At times miscommunication about expectations for interns and sometimes a loose organization structure in terms of intern program
