None whatsoever. This place is a hellhole.

Cons

The colleagues are beyond nightmarish. Racist and unprofessional Neanderthals that ridicule you in Thai and bully anyone there that isn’t Thai. They actively condemn customers that don’t leave tips - which is embarrassing to be around. They don’t follow food safety and health rules and undermine you when you try to abide by the law (lie to you about what the law even IS). High volumes of harassment, shouting, and shocking mistreatment. Stealing from tip jars. Breaking glasses and scapegoating the nearest person. Shocked and appalled that such a shoddy business can be run in a developed country like England. I’d only expect this behaviour with mentally challenged children.

Working at Giggling Squid helped me build strong customer service and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment while gaining confidence handling busy shifts and guest interactions. The role also improved my communication, multitasking, and ability to stay calm under pressure.

Cons

The environment could sometimes be physically demanding during peak hours, with long shifts and high customer volume requiring constant energy and focus. Balancing speed of service with maintaining high customer experience standards could also be challenging at busy times.
