Pros
I have had the opportunity to work in a couple of different areas at Gild. There have definitely been highs and lows, but what start up doesn't have that roller coaster ride? If you're willing to communicate with your team and managers, they are willing to listen and work with you and I value that. If you have a hard time speaking up, then that will be challenging for you. You should be mature if you want to work here - be ready to address any conflict/disagreement head on. Again, that should be expected at a start up. But at least you'll be heard and get it resolved, right? We have been evolving and growing as a company. The product offers so much more than it did just a year ago, and I'm excited to see where we'll be in the next 6-12 months! There is so much need out there for great and efficient hiring software and we are truly the leaders in Hiring Success Management - we're building as fast as we can. I value the work/life balance - the PTO plan is wonderful. If you are accountable, get your work done, and think of ways to improve the company as well as our customers lives, then you'll thrive here. Gild is truly like no other place I have worked. It took me some time to believe that it is different, but once I let go of my traditional employer/employee history, it has been eye-opening.
Cons
It's not perfect and it's not going to be for everyone, but what company is? We're data driven, so even though I might feel something is super important for our product, it won't necessarily happen. But that's life and honestly makes sense. Doesn't stop me from asking, though.
