Pros

Good benefit program with retirement opportunities. Recently bought by Xerox so expected much more than they delivered.

Cons

Like being on a ship with no rudder. Surprised every day by lunch hour. Very disorganized with no basic processes in place. Cannot see how they stay in business

Global Imaging Systems Response
8y
You’ve touched on the strong benefits package and generous 401(k) match offered, and also brought up some planning and time management concerns at your work location—we appreciate that you shared your thoughts with us. At Global Imaging Systems headquarters, we don’t have the position of Field Service Technician, and we encourage you to relocate your review to the correct company. All of our cores (subsidiaries) appreciate candid feedback, and use it to best understand what is top-of-mind to employees. Making sure your feedback is on the correct Glassdoor page ensures that your company will be able to hear your concerns, provide a direct response, and consider changes that could positively impact other Field Service Technicians. In particular, it sounds like you felt that your work environment could be improved with documented policies, processes, and procedures. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. And of course, we wish you well as you pursue your technician career!

Pros

Great company culture. Employees and support staff are dedicated. Freedom to negotiate terms on deals in comparison with similar companies. Employees made it a great place to work. Effective leadership. Give salespeople many tools and support. Many incentives for meeting quotas like 2-3 company paid trips annually to places such as Ireland, Cancun, San Diego, Virgin Islands, etc.

Cons

Being new in the field, must put in long hours to be successful during your 1st year (~50-55 per week). Micro-management is helpful in getting sales numbers up but some can find it overbearing. Sometimes "guerilla sales" tactics are used, which is commonplace in the copier/printing industry.
