Pros

I worked at GIC as a temp for almost 4 months and really appreciate everything the management have done for me. I went into the events industry with barely any experience and they gave me the opportunity to gain some valuable experience, which I am forever grateful for! Ok so the interview process can be quite challenging, but that’s only because they want the right candidate to fit in with their values and office culture. The team are amazing! Always willing to help you out if you’re in a bit of a pickle, and the regular communication between the team and management is great, as you don’t find that in a lot of offices. Conference days are also really fun and the variety of topics always keeps things interesting. They also have a wine-down at 5pm once a month, where you finish half an hour early and play games with the team. Would definitely recommend GIC as a good place to work!

Cons

Very early starts on conference days, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

Pros

The only saving grace? the people who work there but they deserve so much better. Avoid this toxic place unless you enjoy being micromanaged in a company stuck 30 years in the past

Cons

Where to even begin.. i wish there was an option to give zero stars. From the start, the environment was extremely toxic. Management is patronising, unwilling to adapt from outdated methods, and gives employees no freedom to grow. Instead of addressing real concerns, they resort to begging employees not to write bad reviews, spoiler: that was never going to happen, and encouraged me even more to write this ha! Maybe if they put that effort into actually improving, they wouldn’t have to worry about their reputation. To make matters worse, they flood Glassdoor with fake positive reviews to cover up the real ones. Along with their fake LinkedIn profiles and email addresses, which are used to spam their data lists. Oh, they will use your name and email even when you've left the business. The interview process itself is a red flag; sadly, I didn't listen to my gut, be prepared to get quizzed by the director on pathetic questions that have no relevance to the job. Let’s not forget the questionable duo running the show..more focused on control than creating a healthy work environment. They're obsessed with giving males from high-class schools all the importance while looking down on skilled females. To make it worse, if you are a female, friendships in the office are not allowed, nor is talking in the office, as if a supportive work environment is a threat to them or just females in general... Avoid at all costs, unless you enjoy being micromanaged.
