Great operational experience, poor senior management culture. - Warehouse Operations Manager Global Link Distribution Employee Review

Pros

The work itself was solid and provided good hands-on experience in warehouse operations, customer management, retail compliance, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and team leadership. The day-to-day job was challenging in a productive way, and there were real opportunities to learn, solve problems, and build strong operational systems.

Cons

Senior management could be difficult to work with and often lacked professionalism in communication, decision-making, and employee support. The work environment sometimes felt unnecessarily stressful because of leadership style rather than the actual job duties.

Pros

Co-workers are pretty friendly. Hours are set and reasonable. It's an office job.

Cons

The management has poor communication within the upper levels, and don't expect any sort of guidance or constructive criticism as a lowly employee. They demand results with muddled directions and literally yell at you to not "wasting the time" and do "sorta betta". Part of this might have to do with a language barrier, but nevertheless, that does not excuse the textbook definition of unprofessional that exists at this crumbling company. The upper management speaks primarily in Cantonese and Mandarin, and the only English you'll hear is when they're giving instructions for how the workers are supposed to change what they're doing. The logistics and warehouse department is segregated from the marketing and graphics departments, as the company actively discourages any sort of camaraderie being built between them. Think I'm exaggerating? The warehouse crew has a separate refrigerator and punch-clock versus a different refrigerator marked "FOR OFFICE WORKERS ONLY" and a swiping card system to clock in. Everything must be submitted to upper management for approval. If you have an idea for how to move the business forward, even if you're part of the marketing or graphics department, I have seen them constantly shut down and wait to proceed. This is micromanagement to the maximum. Take this block of text as a warning to stay away. You can do better for the pay and for less stress.
