Pros

The clients can be interesting. Snacks.

Cons

You are thrown into big accounts and big projects with almost no training. No work-life balance, at all. You are on call always, Colleagues are nice, and they offer to help in training but they themselves are so swamped with work they never can devote any of it to training you. Absolutely toxic people get promoted while people who value any semblance of sleep and life are shunned. It is expected, and a point of pride for many staff here, that they work at least 60 hour weeks. The pay is far below market level. Expecting anyone in the DC/NYC/Seattle area to work 60 hours a week for 47k a year is criminal. The culture talks a lot about the "Global 15" like the freshman 15 where you gain weight out of the sheer stress and inability to move or go out due to living at the office under crumbling amounts of work. Again, wildly overworked, extremely underpaid.

Pros

Good benefits, lots of smart people, staff is nice, really interesting work and clients.

Cons

Lack of proper training and resources for associates and junior staff, despite high expectations. Managers can oversee your work/accounts, but do not meaningfully develop you. If your manager is busy—which everyone is—client work will be prioritized over you. There is little tolerance for the learning curve, and if you struggle within the first few months, you may be terminated for not being a “good fit.” Employees are expected to be available outside normal work hours, partly due to the culture and partly because of the nature of the industry. You will be working past 6pm most days.
