Pros

You can progress quite quickly if you work hard and get results. There is flexibility generally in the working day. Fruit in the office daily Reasonably OK pay in line with sector Recently started a social club which helps with a positive work culture - put on events like ping pong, talent shows, lunch walks - nice people generally, good social atmosphere and camaraderie Christmas party is usually quite good

Cons

Poor facilities - terrible IT, meeting rooms are very basic, only just installed a water fountain, no bike storage, one shower (no showers for females) Stressful working environment due to bad management planning Lack of collaboration and communication across departments makes achieving things difficult Poor onboarding experience for new staff Bad pension (national minimum) Terrible holiday (national minimum) - plus they make you take a few days off at Xmas Not much flexibility around flexible working, work from home No recognition around good work - bonus, staff awards Nepotism is evident - senior management friends and family of CEO - often makes politics difficult and creates a 'watch what you say' atmosphere Lack of adoption to software and systems - not a 21st century modern organisation and little spent on training and development to ensure full adoption of software in place

Hello, Thanks for reviewing your time with Global University Systems. Overall, we are pleased to hear that you have enjoyed your time with the company so far and that you think there is room for career progression within the group. As you mentioned, a positive work environment enhances productivity and the aim of our social committee is to change the culture and improve engagement among members of staff. We are pleased to hear that our efforts have been understood and employees like you and me can enjoy a bit more of social atmosphere in the workplace. Sorry to hear that some of the cons you mentioned have spoiled your experience with GUS. The engagement team is working hard to improve some of the points mentioned but the project is still at the early stages and there is a lot more that can be done. Thanks for your hard work and all the best, Alessandra
