Pros

The company provides a unique niche product (crane simulators) to organizations throughout the world. More recently there has been an emphasis on virtual reality systems and other state-of-the-art technology. The organization is relatively flat (4 primary owners constitute the management team). Not a whole lot of drama among the 30 employees. Many employees travel frequently to international locations - the company is generous in providing accommodations/reimbursements. Until somewhat recently the company was a small division of a Norwegian global enterprise called Kongsberg. A management buy-out occurred in March 2016 and since that time the company has been independent. GlobalSim as an independent company has kept virtually all of the perks that existed prior to the buy-out. The benefits package is more on-par with a large European company: Approximately 4 weeks PTO per year plus a number of holidays. Matching 401k. Profit sharing plan for all employees. Decent health insurance, etc.

Cons

While the people are friendly and the overall environment is good, GlobalSim is not necessarily a "lively" place to work - the majority of employees are engineers that are busy in their office working on projects. The technology is cool... but if you're looking for a young, hip, modern start-up environment... GlobalSim is a little bit quiet and conservative and may not meet your social expectations.

Pros

GlobalSim has a small, family-like culture that larger companies often try to emulate but rarely achieve. The owners and management, in my opinion, do their absolute best to advocate for their employees. You never feel like a line item on a ledger; instead, you feel like a valued contributor in a shared mission. Furthermore, their benefits—specifically the health coverage and 401(k) matching—exceed those of typical larger companies.

Cons

Ironically, the focus on high-quality, customized, tailored development for their customers needs lead to a high cost low production development. With the market disruptions following Covid left the company vulnerable and they were acquired by CM-Labs. Which lead to restructuring and layoffs.
