Sales marketing lead company. No value for construction employees. They have no say in decision making nor they have any growth horizon in the company. Most construction decisions - be it staff recruitment , contractor or material selection is are being driven basis cost. There is zero consideration on ability to deliver a top quality end product. There are junior construction staff deployed at project sites who lack experience and poor souls are lost in GPL. Most of the senior construction staff have left the company. Contractors working are labour suppliers and most their work is being done by GPL staff including arranging all consumable materials and even labour for them. Where is the time to do quality checks to deliver a top class quality product ?? This is clearly evident from the product being delivered to the customers who are clearly not happy. crazy timelines and targets are planned in the annual plan but then on ground delivery is half of what is planned. Unnecessary pressure is being placed on construction staff for targets and frankly they don’t give any importance to such illogical targets beyond a point as they know they will anyways not be acknowledged at the end. The COO and HO team are mere advisers who do not have skin in the game. Even the zonal teams know this fact and hence they do not give any value to their ego filled views laced with no site experience. The COO and his team are totally theoretical and talk stuff which has no relevance on ground. The COO is not being questioned or held accountable for deliverables on ground by MD , hence the construction team is without any direction or purpose. There is just no presence of construction professionals in the company. Please think 10 times and take feedback from your colleagues in GPL before joining this company. Only join if , being treated as third rate employees and good presentation skills instead of focusing on construction on ground give you a kick.
