Pros

you get a 20% discount for employees ( but you can only shop at your lunch or before or after work ) got to wear a simple uniform so that saved on having to buy work clothes

Cons

This company is the most insane and corrupt place I have ever worked at in my 55 years of working. I have seen grown men cry there, and I myself cried numerous times ( from the stress, from the unfairness, from the torment ). It's like, you get hired and spend your time trying to stay employed. managers will come at you with made up charges and you cannot tell your version nor can you go over their heads. They do have a 1-800 no..but I think it rang at a pay phone in dry creek, Mexico or something because NO ONe would get back to you about your complaint. The POS cash registers are not meant for long lines of ppl..the lines backed up and you would still be pressing buttons and having the customers sign a slip, etc...of course no manger would come up and help get down the line...and managers ? I think if you can fog a mirror you were hired. No skills except how to hide in the back and scream at you ..Our break room had no conveniences like water or a nice microwave, cups, etc..we had to use donated items when our ( very small ) microwaves would burn out. You would be written up for petty, meaningless incidents ( unless you were a pet )...things like parking in an area reserved for customers ( although when you worked nights the employee area would be full )..I was once called in the office for calling my pal at work a darling clementine ..term of endearment...and he even laughed about it..snitches back stab constantly ..at the end of the night you were to clean the store..with a vacuum that blew dust everywhere, no spray bottles , dirty mop heads, etc. stay away from this place. it is NOT about helping poor ppl..

Pros

This place does so much good for the community that the community does not know it does.

Cons

Not a con with the organization, but the space is hard to keep up with compensation wise

Pros

Work fulfilling both physically and socially, dealing with donors and fellow employees for this retiree and former legal and business professional.

Cons

Creepy, clannish, petty, and cultish management is more interested in humiliating others under the guise of "following rules" many of their own making than in ensuring that the work facility is properly equipped to handle daily workflow. Communication nonexistent. Managers pop in and out, apparently stationed at some secret location.  Robotic replies to legitimate work questions when they weren't out-and-out nasty.  I've occasionally dealt with this sort of folks, but never an entire collection of them cheering each other on as might appear in some deleted scene from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." Poisonous and bizarre. Recommended only for the Abnormal Psychology student.
