Positive working environment with great progression opportunities - Event Assistant Goose & Berry Employee Review

Worked here last summer season as a waiter and found it a really enjoyable place to work with varied events and cool venues. I have made some great friends working here and you see regular faces at shifts which makes it more enjoyable to work. Always get fed delicious food when working and the kitchen and management team are so friendly.

Long days and can be weekend work but expected when working in hospitality.

flexible, you are able to pick and choose what dates you'd like to work. sometimes get to try some of the food (which is very good) if there are leftovers.

very unpleasant work environment. managers can be very snide/catty in front of employees, as well as to colleagues when the individual is not present. kitchen can become quite hostile, even if it is a stressful environment, could be handled much better. can be quite last minute when sharing details of events (like location). one break across a long shift, not scheduled in so can be at any point in the shift (typically, at weddings, when speeches are being done).
