Pros
Good prestige for working for the biggest name in the business
Cons
Apart from this it is modern day slavery on steroids. You start work @ 10am, but work until 2am fulfilling room service orders for the marriot hotel - which comes out of the same kitchen. So 16-18 hour days as standard. If you don’t live close to work you will fall asleep on the commute, which is obv. dangerous! The only break is one hour and it’s all day dining, so you are in service all day as they turn the tables several times per day. Profit machine for supercar fuel, nothing more, nothing less. Not entirely sure how it’s allowed to continue operating like this, possibly because everyone has to sign an MDA as soon as they join, partly because of the IP brainwashing and also probably the very young staff that don’t know no better doing the donkey work and a bunch of seniors employed to oversee it mainly, to ensure it doesn’t all fall apart. Expect to get in and barely have enough time to talk to anyone, you’re so busy throughout the day, somehow get told off for using the staff canteen as it’s for Marriott employees only (despite doing room service, go figure), stay on top of prep despite being in service also all day & remember to smile for all the tourists & netflix junkies that want to come in the kitchen for pictures at the end of the day!
