Pros
- They overpay
- Management is completely hands off
- Everyone not in charge gets along great
- Plenty of PTO time, if you can use it
- If you can avoid IT work, you can fly under the radar without working too hard
Cons
- Nepotism reigns supreme, and a large part the company is made up of lifers that couldn't get hired anywhere else
- Consistently asked to do unethical things for sales : editing PDFs, claiming a database is proprietary software even though we pay a licensing fee for it, filtering out large claims so the client doesn't see it, etc.
- Management is so misinformed it creates more work. Ex: IT director fired the ONLY person to ever run a database, without consulting anyone in the company, which resulted in years of extra work trying to cover up that mistake
- In the process of outsourcing multiple jobs in an attempt to avoid paying promised bonuses to staff
- Seniority rules all. An employee of 30+ years can actively harass newer employees and nothing will be done about it. Even if that employee is in the same position they were 30 years ago
- HR openly jokes about firing people without cause and avoids any questions or work
- Plenty of PTO: but you'll be pressured not to use it, contacted constantly when you do use it, and not paid out for it when you exit
