Pros

Produce parts for prestigious manufacturers

Cons

Bad management - The business is family owned. These owners are aloof and seem to inspire all management to act in this way. They couldnt care less for their staff. No progression, No rewards or recognition, Bad pay, Bad facilities, Bad company ethos, Miserable staff, I dont even think this company has any shared values. Also located in a dull and miserable part of the world with nothing going on.

Pros

Typical day: Setting up CNC machines, running programs, checking offsets, and carrying out in‑process inspections. Workload ranges from steady routines to fast‑paced prototype machining. What I learned: Developed strong skills in machining complex castings, fixture setups, CAD/CAM adjustments, and troubleshooting. Improved time‑management and problem‑solving abilities. Management: Generally supportive and available when needed. Workplace culture: Team‑oriented environment with experienced colleagues and a shared pride in producing high‑precision components. Helpful, professional, and focused on craftsmanship. Most enjoyable part: Variety of work, technical challenges, and the satisfaction of producing high‑quality components. Constant learning and strong teamwork make the role rewarding.

Cons

Complex projects: The technical nature of the work can be challenging at times, though it’s also an excellent opportunity to deepen your expertise.

Pros

Very high employee turnover rate

Cons

Unprofessional interview process, told to guess what the job entails, then penalised for guessing incorrectly, leading into the interview process, lied to about what the process would involve.
