Pros

Used to be a great company to work, with lots of knowledgeable, talented and motivated employees collaborating as a family. The acquirer used to be a large manufacturer and supplier. After the acquisition of GrandVision, the acquirer has also become a large retailer and has further strengthened its global market position. This is good for the corporation and most probably for the remaining workforce.

Cons

Company culture changed a lot after the acquisition, and the shutdown of NL headquarters. Limited opportunites to work in the Netherlands.

Management is very transparent and wants to help you succeed. Work/family life is balanced.

Cons

Turn around time for lenses can take too long because they use outsource labs.

Pros

Great discounts on glasses and you learn a lot. Free exam. Nice employees.

Cons

Doctors are hard to work for and have you do way too many jobs other than your own. Pay is not great, and you are required to work Saturdays. You also only get 5 days a year for PTO. That's inclusive of sick time and vacation. There were a couple really nice people that worked there. Crazy amount of turn over. They put a lot of pressure on you to sell glasses, but expect you to do a lot of other things as well, so you can't be on the floor as much as needed. Completely understaffed, and you have to stay until the patient leaves even if its 2 hours after closing. Also if some one knocks on the door, even if you are closed, you have to open it, even if you are about to leave.
