Pros

Granite promotes an amazing culture where everyone feels not only at home, but happy to be there. With a C-Suite that practically knows all 1800 employees by name it is hard not to feel like part of the family. In addition to the internal amity that exists at Granite, there is also a huge presence in the community. With events like Saving by Shaving and Granite Gives Back, Granite employees donate an abundance of their time effort to improve the community, as well as, great causes like Pancreatic Cancer research at Dana Farber. In addition to the social culture Granite also creates abundant opportunities for its teammates to grow both vertically and horizontally. Whether you are looking to take on more responsibility, or simply a different responsibility, Granite is always willing to work with you on your own personal path-to-progress. No risk of getting stuck in a dead end job!! My personal favorite aspect of Granite is its commitment to a healthy life. Whether it be the 24/7 free of charge gym and yoga classes, or the company coordinated health plans (such as weight watchers) granite always has your well-being in mind. I also don't hate the easy reverse commute from Boston or the Red-line stop in the parking lot!

Cons

They didn't recruit me sooner.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
