Pros

Interesting and meaningful work. The customers are varied and enjoyable to work with. At the end of the day you are helping people save energy and reduce waste. The engineers and analysts on the team are very knowledgeable and experienced, and you can learn a lot by working with them. At the employee level, everyone is friendly and happy to help each other out. Taking time off is easy and encouraged. They seem to be willing to work with employees on modified schedules as needed for things like attending classes. Work-life balance is good, and there’s no pressure to answer calls or emails after hours.

Cons

Leadership is extremely hit or miss (mostly miss). It’s a family run business and some family members are incredibly toxic while others are normal. You will have to learn to deal with management being openly dishonest, disrespectful and insulting to their employees. There is a high level of micromanagement, although at times it feels as though they aren’t managing as much as trying to feel in control. Based on the small size of the company I assumed it would be more of a start-up feel, but they are entrenched in their ways and have simply failed to grow the company any larger than it is now. You will be yelled at, demeaned and berated for making any mistakes, so go in with a thick skin. They don’t believe in constructive criticism but they do believe in criticism. As it’s a family owned company with no HR department there are no checks on this behavior. Benefits are bare-bones. Reimbursement for personal expenses is poor. There are no stipends for personal cell phone use, home office use or equipment. Personal vehicle mileage is either not reimbursed or reimbursed at a low rate. There is no reimbursement for continuing education or classes to maintain certifications. They do provide company laptops.

We thank you for taking the time to post feedback. It is great to learn that you enjoyed the challenge and diversity of work. We work hard to help our staff gain a sense of accomplishment in their areas of interest and contribute to the value we provide our customers. Taking on tedious data entry tasks can help sustain attention to important details and uncover insights that would not have been possible any other way.

Pros

Niche work, could potentially be a very unique learning experience

Cons

I really don’t understand the positive reviews. I worked in this company for two years. This is hands down the worst company to work for if you hope on keeping your mental health intact. Some of the issues: 1. Employees are yelled at, called stupid, told that their work is bad in front of everyone in the office. 2. Below par pay, almost negligible annual increases and terrible benefits. 3. The CEO is the toughest guy you will ever work with. He thinks the employees owe him their life because they work for him. Employees are taken for granted, their work belittled. 4. Micromanagement of the highest order: The company gives two days a week to work from home but, employees are monitored much more on those days. 5. No respect for employees mental health. Employees have been given mental health issues, made to cry and shouted at through anxiety issues. 6. No proper HR department. The CEO’s family holds all the power in the company and they don’t let each other down even if they are at fault. There’s zero incentive to work for this company. If you are offered a job, reject it with no second thought.

Thank you for your feedback. However, yours stands out as a negative outlier among what other past employees have shared on Glassdoor, as well as through interactions we have had with them over the last 20 years. We are sorry that all the time and effort we invested to help you develop and improve your performance was not received as intended. As a Manager, I can say that it is often far easier to let someone just perform at their level, even if unsatisfactory, than it is to provide constructive feedback and deliver further coaching so our team can reach its fullest potential. Team members are grateful for this personalized approach as it enables them to develop skills to work alongside our high-caliber clients who are the “best of the best” in their industry. In return, we have always provided generous raises, bonuses, and advancement opportunities to team members who are growing and performing in their role. This is why we believe your comments are an outlier on this platform and inconsistent with the overall perception of our workplace. We wish you all the best and hope that some of your learning while at Graphet serves you well in your future and that someday you can look back on the experience in a positive way.
