Pros
Ability to try new approaches to complex problems. Work focuses on socially-important issues. Coworkers are wonderful, kind, and inclusive people.
Cons
Employees are overworked and under-compensated. Tech salaries have not kept pace with the market. Leadership does not listen to employee concerns and suggestions and give condescending responses when help is requested. When projects begin, teams are told staffing will be increased; however, these promises are not kept and the additional work is added to individuals' already full plates. Promotions and raises are commonly promised but not delivered. Company has no clear vision on what products are. Time is spent working on deliverables that are changed last minute and never delivered. No opportunities for advancement after years in tenure. Grandiose plans that are impossible to achieve because they are neither well-scoped nor coordinated with the teams who will develop those technologies. Deadlines for those deliverables are also unrealistically set without consulting the teams who will make them. Very disappointing, as the company could be so much more than it presently is – and what it is right now is not heading in a good direction...
