Pros

Decent pay Remote work opportunities

Cons

My experience at Graphite was largely disappointing, marked by a rigid, ineffective approach to client SEO and a volatile internal environment. Graphite's "one-size-fits-all" growth strategy consistently failed diverse clients. Their offerings were limited to low-quality content, an internal linking solution with mixed results, and programmatic content offering diminishing returns. This inflexible methodology often forced ill-suited, proprietary solutions onto clients, wasting their resources and demonstrating a fundamental misunderstanding of their unique needs. Crucially, their approach entirely ignored the user journey, focusing instead on superficial metrics. It felt as though the CEO's singular focus was on seeing "up and to the right" graphs, regardless of the actual value or long-term impact for clients. Internally, the company culture was characterized by frequent, seemingly indiscriminate terminations, creating a climate of fear and instability. This high turnover stifled employee growth and commitment. Entire teams were laid off at once, putting a significant strain on employees to pick up the slack, yet expectations remained just as rigid. Furthermore, management consistently lacked experience, leading to unprofessional conduct and a lack of clear direction. This directly undermined team morale and productivity.

Cons

Startup environment can be a bit hectic at times, but that's not necessarily a con for me.

Pros

At first, I was extremely impressed with Graphite and how they conducted their business. They seemed intentional, ready to invest in their people, and welcoming. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that their style of leadership and management was a fend-for-yourself mentality, and their promises of help and training were never followed through on. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. The people are nice, and I made some good connections working here, but if they continue to burn out their team members, they will have tons of turnover.

Cons

- no work-life balance (even with “unlimited PTO”, you are constantly worrying about work and the stress of the workload. - leadership that plays favorites and doesn’t communicate - constantly told to meet standards but told to not work overtime. Ended up working 50 hours a week for months.
