Pros

I have immensely enjoyed working at the Veritas Prep campus! Working as an Assistant Athletic Director has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I truly enjoy coming to work every day because of the culture here. The administration is not only supportive but also deeply invested in everyone's success, which makes it easy to thrive in my role. What I love most is seeing the tangible impact of our efforts on the community. Whether it's helping student-athletes achieve their goals, fostering school spirit, or organizing events that bring people together, this job allows me to contribute to something bigger than myself. I feel fortunate to be part of a team that values hard work, celebrates achievements, and genuinely cares about the well-being of everyone involved.

Cons

While the role is incredibly fulfilling and the culture is outstanding, compensation could be more competitive to reflect the hard work and dedication that goes into supporting our programs and community

Thank you for your feedback. The best schools involve listening to our faculty and staff to create the best learning environments for our students. We believe in having a dedicated administration who supports our faculty. Our compensation package has been an area that we have been working to improve. Great Hearts does provide excellent benefits (medical, dental, etc.), with employee premiums that are significantly below the national and regional averages. As of the 2024-2025 school year, we have increased the salaries of our current and new teachers. However, we will continue to make improvements to our benefits and compensation package.

Pros

1) Hard to get fired 2) Lowest monthly premiums for benefits I’ve experienced 3) There are busy and slow seasons. Some times you have far too much work to complete in 40 hours and other times you may only have 20 hours of work

Cons

1) Low pay 2) Leadership could be better mainly HR/People Ops, individuals seemingly put into higher up positions based on tenure at the company rather than job experience. 3) Little to no room for growth in HR/People Ops. 4) No annual review process formal or informal and no raises based on individual merit 5) a standard company wide increase each year is in place but it’s typically 2% so not even an amount that keeps up with the cost of living 6) it can feel cliquey

Thank you for your feedback. We will share with our leadership your comments. We strive to set a standard of excellence for our students with a focus on a rich liberal arts curriculum and emphasis on moral formation. Great Hearts does provide excellent benefits (medical, dental, etc.), with employee premiums that are significantly below the national and regional averages. We have been engaged in ongoing work on this issue for several years despite no significant funding increases from the states in which we operate, and simultaneously we must balance the need to maintain smaller class sizes, robust network resources, and safe and welcoming campuses. Great Hearts does provide excellent benefits (medical, dental, etc.), with employee premiums that are significantly below the national and regional averages. We have increased our salary ranges in certain regions over the past year. We will continue to work to improve in these areas.
